How the Three-File System Works to Save You Time and Simplify Your Life

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Paper.

It’s everywhere. And unless you have a simple system for “processing” it, it can overrun your office, kitchen, and home.

Before I discovered the three-file system, I had all kinds of files… maybe twenty or thirty of them, all with a different label.

Every month, I’d go through all the mail and bills and file the statements. Every piece of paper went into a separate file. Which meant I was touching dozens of files every month. Filing paperwork took way too much time, and I didn’t like it.

Enter the three-file system. I can’t remember where or when I heard about it. But I finally got so desperate (my study was beginning to look like a storage archive minus the filing boxes), I decided to give it a try.

Here’s how to set up your three-file system.

  1. Get three hanging file folders and put them in your filing cabinet.
  2. Label the first one “File #1″
  3. Label the second one “File #2″
  4. Label the third one “File #3″
  5. Get a small mail organizer and place it where you open the mail.

Okay, when you’ve completed each of these steps, you’re ready to begin using the system. Here’s how it works…

Whenever you get the mail, adopt a one-touch policy. Either throw it away, shred it, or file it in your mail center. (I put statements in the large slot of the mail center and place payment slips with their envelopes into the small slot. I organize the bills according to when they must be paid.)

Now, do this for the entire month. When the month is over, take all the statements and file them in Folder #1.

During the second month, you will open and process the mail the same way. Then, at the end of the month, you will take all the statements and place them in File #1. All the paperwork already in File #1 gets moved to File #2.

During the third month, repeat the process. At the end of the month, all the paperwork in File #2 goes to File #3. File #1 goes to File #2. And all the paperwork in the mail center goes in File #1.

Got it?

During the fourth month, repeat the process again. Except this time, the paperwork in File #3 goes to the shredder. Or at least most of it. If there’s something you must save for tax records or for a longer period of time, simply create a folder to store the “exceptions.”

Here’s what the system does. It simplifies your life and saves you boatloads of time. Instead of touching dozens of files every month, you only touch one or two. There’s no separating or sorting. Five minutes and you’re done.

I’ve been using the three-file system for about half a year now and I wonder… why didn’t I do this sooner? Paperwork is a breeze now. The paper beast has been tamed.

Your action item: Go set up your three-file system now and begin using it immediately. It’ll be one of the best organizational improvements you make all year.

Not Being Who I Really Am

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Who does it re mortgage to be who we are? It helps others to feel good about themselves tax relief attorney front of other people. Isn’t that being fake? Yes … to a certain extent. Many of us women take on roles from the time we are young playing with dolls or playing house or playing nurses or doctors or teachers. As we grow, we become the things either our parents wanted us to be or we fail. And then we perceive our selves as failures for a long time. Why do we hurt ourselves so much?

Why is it that we have set such high expectations of ourselves for the sake of what it appears to the rest of the world? Maybe it’s for our parents and siblings. I know my parents did the very best they could with what they experienced in their lives. I didn’t get the chance to talk to my mom before she passed in 1998. But even though she is not here I know she knows everything I have gone through and she is proud of me.

My dad is just my dad … we talk but not as much now that I have moved away. I know he loves me and wants only the best for me. I was not running away from anyone or anything, I was running to my future, as I look back now. Things happen to everyone everyday, what should matter is ourselves and what we think about our life.

Granted, parents do the best with what they can in raising their kids. No one is given a book on how to be the ideal parent; parenting is a hard job and one not to be entered lightly. I did the best I could with what was available to me at the time. I love all my children equally and uniquely because they are their own person. Thank God I realized this before I did too much damage … LOL (LOL equals Laughing Out Loud). The more I think about this (parenting and life), it does not only pertain to women, but men free auto insurance quotes In my situation and in my life I was never told it is my choice. I was raised not to walk away from a relationship, because of the kids. To stay and take whatever is happening and bare it with as much grace as possible. I did my best.

So I just accepted what was happening in my life and went with the flow of things good or bad. And believe me when I say it got bad. I took the hard way out. I left when my son asked me, “Mom why do you stay with him?” That one sentence my son said made me realize how many mistakes I had made in life and theirs vardenafil staying. Out of the mouth of babes … well, this babe was eighteen years old. I still remember when I told him my answer, I said, “Son, I stayed for you all.” And his response was, “Well now is your time to be free to live a good life. We are all grown and can take care of ourselves.” All I could do was cry. I was mostly crying I realize now for all the time I had wasted. And in hind sight that’s not such a bad thing because it is through those mistakes that has made me who I Lithium today.

I have had to learn a lot late in my life. From love, to religion and politics. Funny, yep, sure is; but … I have learned and I have grown for the better. I was born and raised a Catholic. I got most of my spiritual faith in God from my Grandmothers. Because it was them who mostly did the raising in our family because my parents had to work to put a roof over our heads and pay bills. Just as today it takes both parents to run a household. And even with all of that going on I walked around most of my life with a chip on my shoulder. I was always cold to other people who I didn’t have direct contact with or that had anything to do with my world. Which is not a good thing. Because I have learned “We are Our Brother’s Keeper.” Literally.

Not only am I a woman. I am a mother, friend, soul mate, thinker, homemaker, writer, I am a Spiritual Being who knows no limit to God’s Love for each and everyone of us. Who believes that all faiths that are truly of God are of Love and Peace. I no longer take my days as they come but I have learned to live in gratitude for all that I have now and I have opened my life for more good to come my way. I released all the negative in my life. I had to or I would still be all alone today. It was a slow process but it is do-able. It all starts with the first step. Forgiveness is the main thing we have to focus on, because if we can not forgive the hurts, how can we expect to go forward in life? Un-forgiveness effects everything we come into contact with including anything we want to have happen that could be of benefit to us. It can poison every aspect of our life. It stifles us. It chokes off all the good that could come. But this state of un-forgiveness is what blocks it.

I did a ceremony of sorts (both mentally and literally). I wrote down all my hurts and after each one (be it person or thing that caused me pain or hurt). I wrote, “I release you and I set you free. I forgive you for not being who I wanted you to be. I forgive you for hurting me and I now accept me just as I am perfect and complete. For this I thank you, for giving me my new self. I am free to love and be loved. I am free to go to places I have never been to before. I am free to live as I see fit to live. I am worthy of all the good that comes to me now and all ways. I am free to just be me. I am free! And I love Me!”

I rolled it up and I cut it up and I burned it. With this came the feelings of all the hurts passed, tears came to my eyes, and you know what? They weren’t bad tears. I was crying for all the time I had wasted in keeping all the hurt within me for so long. I now live in a world that is ever changing and one in which I am forever grateful for. I hope this story I am sharing with you all helps if not sheds a light for you to share with someone who may need to read this. Please by all means share it and do so with my Blessings! Take care of you! Because you are all you have. You only live once. Be proud of who you are and what you are willing to become!

Zero in on Your Smilers

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Recently automobile insurance quote gave a presentation at a Summit Conference in New York City and was confronted with a very ‘tight’ audience. I was blessed, however, IRS attorneys have two women in the large ballroom who smiled throughout, nodding their heads in agreement with everything I said. The second blessing was that these two women were sitting on opposite sides of the room; thus in acknowledging my two ’smilers,’ I had to scan the room from one side to the other.

In teaching presentation skills, I advocate zeroing in your smilers because they bolster your confidence. Some people smile because they agree with you and some people smile just because they smile. Some people listen with their eyes closed; some people indeed are sleepers.

In a room filled with over 100 attendees, however, I was surprised that I had only two smilers. Without a doubt, this particular group was one of the hardest audiences I have ever faced. In fact, throughout my 40-minute presentation, I questioned their lack of enthusiasm.

Admittedly, the microphone I was handed left much to be desired because it unfortunately was not of the same quality as the stationary mic on the lectern. enterprise web hosting that definitely was my fault for not getting a sound check before life assurance quote I assumed that because the gentleman speaking prior to me was getting great sound with the stationary mic, so too would I with a hand-held version. Very bad assumption; however, great fodder for the book and audio series I’m presently working on for public speaking!]

One attendee, sitting smack dab in the middle of the room and not 10 feet from me, kept nodding off. Of course every audience has a sleeper; and, because the rest of the room was awake, I was not concerned. Interestingly though, while watching the ‘before’ and ‘after’ video clips of my clients, the gentleman whose eyes were half closed, reacted with such sudden force upon seeing Craig, that it took everything in my power not to laugh out loud. (Craig is undoubtedly the best change in a male voice that I have ever encountered.) With his eyes bulging, this ’sleeper’ reminded me of a cartoon character who suddenly becomes bug-eyed upon viewing a beautiful woman.

While the time I spent talking about voice and telephone techniques certainly had its challenges, the applause from the audience upon closing was thunderous. Indeed that was unexpected. Aside from the two smiling women, here was a crowd who showed little expression in what I was saying by their reserved and noncommittal reaction to me. What usually gets a laugh didn’t. What always gets verbal response didn’t. And yet they enjoyed my presentation.

What did I learn from this particular audience? That once again, you can never prejudge how you will be received. During your speech or presentation, the reaction of your audience may not be what you expected. It may be better or it could be worse.

My advice is to ignore your sleepers; zero in your smilers; and talk to your audience just as if you were having a conversation in your living room.

The Latest Innovation in Direct Mail Promotions For the Health Care Industry

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Health Care Professionals use various means to market and advertise their services, but there is one method that is probably the most cost effective, and that is the good ol’ direct mail campaign. Direct mail, or bulk mail as it is often called, has been a staple of the health care industry for years. The free auto insurance quotes it is used is because it simply works well. The auto donation reaches hundreds and thousands of potential patients in a short time span. Unfortunately, there is one drawback to direct mail campaigns. A percentage of the mailers are never looked at. They are ‘just a piece of paper’ that many folks toss into the trash as they go through their mail. Those that aren’t thrown away are often put in a pile of junk mail, never to be seen again.

People don’t do it because they dislike receiving the ad. They do it because at the time, they don’t need a dentist, doctor or chiropractor. They don’t need to visit a clinic or an emergency room. If they did, they’d be very glad to read the advertisement and perhaps stop in the office. But it’s human nature to pay little attention to something that doesn’t seem to be an immediate need.

What’s New In Direct Mail?

There is a new direct mail product that drastically reduces the instances in which the advertisement is immediately discarded. It consists of a postcard mailer with a refrigerator style magnet glued to it. Right away it is an object of curiosity. Most people haven’t ever seen anything quite like it. An otherwise disinterested person will take the time to peel the magnet from the card, just to see what it is. Once they get the quality magnet in their hand they hesitate to simply toss it in the trash. The magnet, unlike the old paper mailers, seems to have a certain amount of value. It is something you feel you web host asp net keep for a little while, at least. The next step is to find a place for the magnet. Most people open their mail at home remortgage so it usually finds a place on the refrigerator or on a cupboard. Even computer cases are a good spot for the magnet.

Human Nature Takes Over

The rest is human nature, and it works to the advantage of the advertiser. People will see the name of the business every day for months and months. The more they see it, the more they are apt to remember the business. Studies have proven that it takes many exposures to advertising material to make a business name stick in someone’s brain. Eventually they will need some medical attention, and they will automatically think of the information on the magnet. The name and number is handy, and they have seen it hundreds of times, so they will naturally go to the fridge to get the number and call it. bad credit equity loans You have a new patient.

Diabetes, Seniors, and Food Ignorance

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Last week for the first time in quite awhile, our family went for lunch at a local fast food restaurant. Being diabetic, I knew that at this particular one I would not have any problem having a proper meal, one I car donation program enjoy and stay within my correct food intake. As we started to eat, an elderly couple came to our remortgage house and asked if they could share it. As there was room for six, and we were only three, we said of course. Quickly glancing around the room I could see it was starting to get busy and space at the tables was filling up. When they came back with their trays I noticed the gentleman had two of everything piled on his tray, and she had two desserts. The look on my face must have shown what my thoughts were as he quickly quipped he was still a growing boy, and was hungry, and she remarked about the sweet tooth she had.

Introducing ourselves we talked between ourselves for a bit, then I heard him say to his wife he still was hungry and was going to get another burger, and off he went. Again, my face must have given my thoughts away, as his wife quickly told me she realized I didn’t approve, she could tell by the look on my face. Her frank remark surprised me and I tried to apologize but she continued speaking very quickly and continued to say her husband was just trying to prove he was still all right, that there was nothing wrong with him, and he could do what he always did, eat a big meal. You see, she continued, we were at the doctors earlier, and he told my husband the tests he had the previous week showed he had diabetes 2, what ever that was, and had to go to the local diabetic clinic, to learn how to manage his diabetes, and how to use insulin, but he told the doctor flatly he would have no part of it, and blamed it on his aging. There was a real look of concern on her face as she shook her head saying what can I do?. Quickly I glanced around to see where her husband was, and saw he had stopped at another table to talk to someone, so I plunged right in and asked her if she understood what it meant for her husband to have international conference calls No, no, no, I do not, was her reply. After the doctor told my husband he was diabetic, Frank was so mad, he stormed out of the office, I didn’t have time to ask any questions, I just literally ran after him. Of course I have heard of diabetes, but I have never known any one who Neurontin it. I am sure it must be serious as Frank, has not been well for over a year now, but he keeps blaming it on aging. What am I going to do?.

Your husband will be coming back to the table in a few minutes, and I don’t think he would be too happy to find you talking to a stranger about this, so I am going to make a couple of suggestions. I told her I had been diabetic for 21 years, so I did know something about the disease, and if she wanted to, I would be happy to talk to her further, and help her get information, from the experts so she had a better understanding about diabetes. Once you have an understanding about diabetes, then you will be able to be of help and support to your husband. Writing my telephone number on a napkin, I passed it over to her telling her she could call me any time when she felt ready to talk. Her husband came back to the table as she was putting the napkin in her purse. As we were saying our good byes, Frank remarked, he wanted to get home as he was not feeling well, and the place was getting too hot, his face was flushed and wet with perspiration.

As they went out the door I sat back in my chair and sighed. My husband stretched out his hand and took mine, and shook his head. We looked at each other and I could tell we must have been thinking the same thing, as he agreed the poor man was flirting with danger.

Knowing what a shock it can be to hear you have diabetes, the reaction Frank had is not uncommon. Individuals respond to the news in individual ways. In this situation, if his wife can be educated regarding the disease, she will be able to better support her husband and even show him it does take effort, but diabetes can be managed. Most look at it in a very negative way, feeling they are going to be denied, even restricted from eating the foods they most enjoyed. It can be emotionally devastating until they are educated regarding food. You don’t have to have diabetes to be food ignorant. There are too many people today who have no idea how to eat healthy, and keeping fit has no priority in their everyday schedule. Life has too many demands on time and energy for most and they feel lucky just to be able to get through the day.

If we are wise in our choices and care about our well being, we will make time to learn about the food we put into our bodies, and make physical fitness part of our daily routine helping us keep in check the possibility of our having to deal with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, cholesterol problems, and the list could be endless. After all we only have one life to live, and taking time to learn what is best for our overall well being is worth the time and energy don’t you think?

There are lots of great sites both in Canada and the United States that can give expert and medical advice. My favorite in the U.S. is dlife.com, of course I have my favorite local ones here in Canada as well, but I do like dlife, as there is always new and up to date information for me, great recipes, and good common sense articles. We can not use ignorance as an excuse, we can learn if we choose to.

Manage Your Email Before It Manages You

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Email is one on the most valuable timesaving tools available in the business world today. Imagine if every time you had donate car get Minnesota Lemon Laws message to a client, supplier or employee, you had to pick-up the phone or meet with them in person. The lost hours could be astronomical. Thankfully email allows us to save the time potentially lost to the chit-chat and idle gossip that can occur as a result of talking on the phone or in person. But as much time as email can save for some, it is a major distraction that actually causes the loss of concentration and time for others.

Let’s face it, with email being such a quick and simple form of communication, most people don’t think twice about responding to emails as they arrive or sending a “quick” note on just about anything. But, all those “quick” notes can quickly add up. If you find that way too much time in your day is being lost to email, the following tips may help you regain the precious time that was meant to be saved by email.

1. Set a schedule to read and respond to emails. For most business owners or employees, reading and responding to your emails at scheduled times at the beginning, middle and end of the day will prevent the loss of concentration that can be caused by responding to email as it arrives. For some, it’s vital to check emails almost constantly throughout the day. If this is the case for you, only respond to the most urgent emails, and reply to the less pressing ones during your scheduled email response times.

2. Set up an email organizational system. You can program your email to car insurance lady sort itself for you based on certain conditions such as, the sender or the title. Some email programs such as MS Outlook will even let you color code your email, to allow you to sort them more efficiently and differentiate between important and non-urgent emails.

3. Set-up an autoresponder for general client inquiries. An autoresponder will automatically respond to emails sent to it. This means you can respond to frequently asked questions automatically while for other inquiries, you can let the client know that their message has been received and give them a time frame in which you will respond to their inquiry.

4. Don’t be afraid not to respond to friends sending you chain emails or jokes. If you don’t have time to read them and/or respond, just delete. Most people won’t be offended by not receiving a “ha ha, very funny” email in return.

5. If you have an Administrative Assistant, allow them to sort your email and send general responses to the less important ones. An Assistant can also check your email throughout the day and notify you of student loan consolidation comparison that needs to be responded to urgently. Exchange servers facilitate this timesaving method. If an Assistant isn’t feasible for you due to space or monetary considerations, you could consider delegating this task to a Virtual Assistant.

6. If a considerable amount of your time is being wasted sorting through junk mail, if possible, heighten your email security. If this is not possible, performing a simple internet search for “stop spam” should give you a selection of programs designed to decrease or eliminate spam.

Email was developed to be a timesaving device. Don’t let it run your business day by making you less efficient. By simply organizing your email and setting specific times to respond to it, you can gain back the time that was initially meant to be saved by email.

The Last Great Barbeque Of Summer

Friday, October 24th, 2008

I love Summer. It is a fantastic time for Family fun and gathering friends together for good times and great food. People everywhere are indulging themselves with great vacations and Family outings. And .. The last, greatest day of the Summer for a perfect backyard gathering with good friends and Family is fast approaching. Labor Day!

Labor Day is the day that we celebrate and thank the American Labor force that made and makes this country the best place to live on our little planet. It is to the American Worker what Memorial Day is to our Armed Forces.

It also means a long weekend for send me the card of us.Some of you will go camping, some will go on float trips. Some may spend the weekend doing family day trips to zoos and amusement parks. But there are a lots of us, myself included, that will spend the weekend getting things together and cooking up a storm for the backyard party and barbeque on Labor Day, Monday, September contraceptive This article is mostly for that last group, the backyard party people. I am going to give you the perfect Pork Steak.

I have found out over the years that Pork Steaks are not generally known outside of the midwest. I went to a Butcher Shop in Kentucky a while back and asked for Pork Steaks and the butcher looked at me like I was from Mars. Simply stated, Pork Steaks are a pork shoulder or butt roast cut into steaks about 3/4 of an inch in thickness.

Here is the general preparation list:

  1. Prepare the Basic Barbeque Sauce (recipe below) Make several batches. This can be done well ahead of time as it will keep for months in the refrigerator. Store it in clean jars. Make the recipe several times over to have on hand at a moments notice. For the following recipe allow one batch of basic sauce (about two cups) for every two or three Pork Steaks. You will need enough sauce and a large enough sauce or Louisiana Lemon Laws pot to completely immerse the Pork Steaks, but I will get back to that later. As an alternative have plenty of your favorite bottled barbeque sauce on hand.
  2. Basic Barbeque Sauce:

    • 2 cups of ketchup
    • 1/4 cup of Worcestershire Sauce
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    • 2 Tbsp. molasses
    • 2 Tbsp. yellow mustard
    • 1Tbsp. barbeque dry rub (There are a few very good rubs available at your neighborhood grocery store like “Montreal Steak” or “Stubbs” or “Grill Mates.̶ ;)
    • 1 Tbsp. tabasco or Louisiana Hot Sauce
    • 1 tsp. liquid smoke
    • black pepper to taste

Combine all of the ingredients and bring slowly to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to a slow simmer until the sauce thickens and darkens, about ten to 15 minutes.

  3. Purchase your Pork Steaks. Allow one steak per person plus a few extra for seconds and possibly leftovers. Pork Steaks are really great on a sandwich the next day.
  4. Marinate the Pork Steaks for at least two hours, covered, in either a glass of plastic dish in the refrigerator. Overnight is better. There are a lot of bottled marinades available but my preference is to use Italian Salad Dressing, oil and vinegar based, not creamy. My favorite is “Hidden Valley Zesty Italian.” Turn the steaks occasionally to make sure that they are evenly coated.

Today is the Day! It is Labor Day and you are expecting a bunch of hungry people this afternoon. It is time to get started.

About four hours or so before you before your want to ring the dinner bell start making your barbecue sauce ready for your Pork Steaks. Since I have no idea how big a party you are having I will keep this limited to cooking with six cups of sauce and six to nine Pork Steaks.

What You Will Need:

  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped. Vidalia onions are my preference. (if you are increasing the recipe add 1 small onion for each additional six cups of sauce)
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped. (add an additional green pepper if you like for every 12 cups of sauce)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced (add one clove per 6 cups)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 6 cups of either your homemade sauce or your favorite bottled sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
  • cayenne pepper to taste. Be careful with this stuff. Add only 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. wait a few minutes and taste the sauce. If you want it a little hotter only add 1/8 tsp. at a time and wait a few minutes and taste again.
  • beer! This is important. For 6 cups of sauce you will need Mirtazapine can of beer. (add 1/2 can for each additional six cups of sauce. You could add more if you like but you don’t want to thin the sauce too much.)

Now, in a audio conference call pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, green pepper, and garlic and saute just until the onion is translucent. Transfer to a stock pot that is large enough to hold all of your sauce and all of the Pork Steaks without overflowing.

Combine all other ingredients in the stock pot and cover. Slowly bring to simmer to meld the flavors. While it is simmering stir it occasionally and take a taste once in a while. your may realize that there is something else that you think will make it better for you. By all means feel free to experiment. If you do just be sure to do it a little at a time. You can always add more but once it’s in there you can not take it back out. Simmer about 30 to 45 minute. Turn off the heat.

One to two hours before you want to serve your hungry guests get your fire ready. It is best to use a covered grill. If you don’t have one have a spray bottle of water handy for flareups which are inevitable with any pork but doubly so since the marinade I use is oil based. You will want a fire no hotter than medium. I am a charcoal man myself. This means after lighting and letting the coals get a nice coating of ash spread them out and let them stand for about 25 minute. In the meantime, get the Pork Steaks out of the fridge and remove from the marinade. Season with a little salt and pepper if desired.

Start reheating your sauce to a slow simmer. Put some of it into a bowl to brush on the meat as you grill it. Spread your Pork Steaks out over the grill. Cook for about 5 or 6 minutes and turn. Brush the upside with sauce. You want some of the sauce to cook into the meat while it is grilling. Cook an additional 5 minutes and brush with sauce again. Turn the Steaks again and brush the upside with more sauce. Cook for 2 or 3 minutes, brush and turn again. After 2 or 3 more minutes remove the meat from the grill and put them into your stock pot of simmering sauce.

Simmer the Pork Steak in the sauce over low heat for 30 minutes to one hour, depending on how many steaks you are cooking. The more your have the longer you should simmer but not more than one hour. Stir them up once in a while to move the top to the bottom and the bottom back to the top for even cooking. Turn off the heat.

It’s time to eat. Add some corn on the cob, cole slaw, baked beans, garlic bread, or any other side dish that strikes your backyard barbeque fancy and you have a feast.

Do Not forget the Watermelon!

Was One of Your Ancestors Involved in the Slave Trade?

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Not long ago a distant cousin, auto donation out their ancestral lineage noted to me Consolidate debt loan student an email that one of our common ancestors was involved in the slave trade. It appears a gentleman by the name of David Winslow was a shipmaster that ran a trade ship delivering products from America to Europe and that the same ship had been noted to bring slaves from Africa to the Americas.

Well, that is unfortunate, but we must also remember that the ships sent stuff overseas and some of the ships brought slaves back, it was a huge cash MESOTHELIOMA advice The person in the employ of the slave importers was doing his job, in hindsight, a pretty horrific job yes, but at the time, and putting the historical perspective on the day, it may not have been so ill-thought at that time. Today we condemn slavery at the highest possible levels. They asked me what I thought about David Winslow’s career path back some 350 years ago. Well, here is what I replied:

Interestingly enough, I Mirtazapine cannot believe that those African Black Tribal Leaders sold their own people into slavery. Makes you not want to trust any African Leaders today, as they are offspring of those tribal leaders who sold their own people! Wow, those African Black Leaders, can you imagine? What a horrible, horrible thing to do to your own blood and kin in your own village, as that is truly tragic.

Apparently, their thinking was if they got rid of the strongest young bucks then they could be the tribal leader longer with no one to try to dethrone them, of course, this also bred weakness into their ranks allowing other tribes to conquer those who sold their top strong young men into slavery, so, they got their just reward didn’t they.

Alas, regarding the African Black Tribal Leaders who sold their own people into slavery? Well, on another point, I sometimes wonder who to blame, the drug dealer or the drug users. If the Tribal leaders sold their people into slavery, they would be the drug sellers, and those who bought them to use them would be the users. Interesting, humans never seem to learn, its a good thing we ended that, otherwise we would have ended up like Rome.

Indeed, I did not know of David Winslow’s purported job as a shipmaster and am not too surprised. In fact, I know there were some Winslow’s that ended up in the South, who had slaves, this is why there are Black Americans, with that last name now. There is a line of Winslow’s in TX that come from the slave owner Winslow’s of the South, that is not my line, but it is a legitimate Winslow line. So, none of this really surprises me.

On a positive note however, the Winslow Line is quite an awesome group of people, it is amazing how much they accomplished and how much the contributed to all we are and all we have built - just incredible indeed. Now then, I ask you; do you know if your lineage was involved in any way in the slave trade? You might be horrified and surprised to learn the facts of history.
